A very short video about how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) affect adult illness such as heart disease, autoimmune disease and cancer, and why I wrote Childhood Disrupted: How Your Biography Becomes Your Biology, And How You Can Heal.
You speak with clarity and your passion about this comes through. I do wish you didnāt limit your desire for raising awareness and ACE screening in the traditional medical setting to physicians. Nurses - particularly advanced practice nurses like Nurse Practitioners - and others (PAs) are also at the frontlines of healthcare and equally need to be aware of ACE impact on health and well-being. I like using the all-inclusive term, āhealthcare providersā when I write and speak about this.
Thank you for the video, your book and continued efforts to raise awareness. Sad and appalling the amount of medical and mental health groups/organizations who still don't get this [or want to 'get it'].
