Teen brings awareness to child abuse - New Mexico

"I want to dedicate my life to being an advocate for abused children and for spreading the word," Pastran said. Pastran knows first hand what it is like to be abused. She has been in the foster care system since 2007, but was recently adopted by her grandfather....She is asking for the public's help. She wants to gather baskets and place blue ribbons on them. The baskets will contain candy and hopefully other little items to be handed out to foster children in Luna County. The purpose is to let these children know someone cares. You can reach her at valeriempastran@gmail.com."
