Hello ACES. I just joined your group and am trying to figure out how it works. A bit about me. My wife and I adopted our daughter Casey from Poland in 1991. She was weak, sickly, possibly suffering from CP. But under our care she blossomed into a beautiful, smart, popular young lade set to go off to Bennington College in fall 2008. Tragically she never made it. In Jan 2008 she took our car, drove to the Golden Gate Bridge and jumped, never to be found. I've just finished a book, The Girl Behind The Door, and launched a blog, www.parentingandattachment.com, where I share my search for answers to Casey's suicide and what I discovered - attachment disorder. It seems so obvious now but everyone missed it. Casey might have been saved. I look forward to connecting with your group and others as I seek to get Casey's story out.
