The Center for Community Resilience (CCR) in the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the The George Washington University is pleased to share our first ever Annual Report. Since this is our first time recapping the Center's work, the report captures the multi-year trajectory of the development and implementation of the Building Community Resilience (BCR) process and Community Resilience (CR) framework.
What's highlighted within reflects CCR and our partners' collective efforts to use interconnected systems and authentic community engagement to transform systems and move toward equity. The report features:
  • A Letter from the Director
  • Insights into the progress of our signature programs (Building Community Resilience Collaborative and Resilience Catalysts in Public Health)
  • Impacts from our Policy Lab's efforts to build resilience through policy and advocacy
  • A look at our new Truth & Reconciliation pilot initiative
  • An overview of available tools and resources borne from CCR and its partner networks
It is incredibly rewarding to see the last five years of my life's work captured in this report; my vision for building community resilience has been translated into action in ways I never expected. I am so grateful for the support of funders, partners, colleagues, and extended networks who have provided resources, connections and encouragement that have allowed CCR to flourish.
I invite you to share the report with your networks and thank you for your contributions to CCR's mission to inspire, support and sustain a national movement of communities working to address the root causes of childhood trauma, foster equity and build community resilience.
Regards,
