Lost foodways through historical trauma such as colonization is one way that community resilience has been weakened or destroyed. This article is a powerful articulation of how cooks and chefs of Polynesian ancestry are attempting to reclaim lost sustenance, identity, and connection to food and place. Marginalized and oppressed communities around the world are trying to reclaim their power, often through food.
