I'm looking at having parents complete a screening tool in an early learning environment (ages 0-6). How are others handling mandated reporting requirements to child welfare agencies?

What tool are you using? In California, we use he PEARLS ACES form from ACES Aware and OSG. Depending on your population and relationship with your families, disclosures may happen. The goal is to help folks with adversity, disclosures may happen. Our clinics have had a very high rate of disclosure. I have not found support from ACEs Aware grantees on this issue. or other clinics with high rates of disclosure for guidance.
Thanks, Suzanne!
Hi.
In Phoenix we use a deidentified screen so we get a number. IF it is higher then 7 we know there was some abuse and we then need to document that we know there is abuse and that we asked if it had all been reported. Most has already been reported - there are some that we are the initial report. It hasn't been a barrier for us. Important point though - every state and sometimes even county is different so you would want to talk to a lawyer and get guidance for your area.
