Reply to "ACES and healthcare for adults in search for colleagues"

Welcome Martijne:

I'm so glad you are here. Have you browsed/explored the Groups at all? I manage the Parenting with ACEs Group and we would love to have you join our growing group. We focus on how ACEs impact parents and parenting knowing the presence or absence of ACEs has great impact on many aspects of parenting.

We believe discussing and sharing the lived experience of parenting with ACEs is healing and beneficial.  We believe the failure to listen to, partner with and have parents lead or co-lead trauma-informed programs or policies have questionable benefit. We exist, in part, to build partnerships with parents and professionals (knowing many in the group are both).

We consider how ACEs have impacted our own parents and communities as well as our own personal lives. We know that being ACE-informed as adults is likely to make us healthier and happier people and parents. We know we can't change the past but we also believe we can change the extent of the impact it has and we can sure as heck change the future.

Parenting with ACEs is just one group but there are many others that might interest you.

We are glad to have you here.

Cissy
