How indigenous tattoos draw a link to the past
Tribal members in Northern California are reclaiming traditional tattoos, especially facial tattoos as a means to connect with their cultural history, a panel of experts in indigenous tattoos told a diverse group of 45 people in attendance at the community event at the Museum of Sonoma County. Sonoma County [California] ACES Connection was one of 30 organizations to come together and take part in Sebastopol's Peacetown Family Village to provide children and families opportunities to make positive social connections, promote awareness/outreach, and share resources and programming. As we’ve recently announced, the CRC Accelerator is taking an indefinite hiatus, but this moment of growth is anything but goodbye. Two years into this unique program, we are aware of the incredible impact access can have on PACEs initiatives and we now have a CRC Fellowship that grows with each CRC graduate.
