June 1 is the Last Day to Register for the "4CA" Policymaker Education Day (on July 11)

Register by June 1 to participate in a state wide education day at the State Capitol, with the goals to 1) Raise awareness of the impact of childhood adversity on children, youth, families, and communities and 2) Address gaps and structural inequities in systems so they can prevent and appropriately respond to childhood adversity, strengthen protective factors and build resilience.

Becoming A Trauma Sensitive School: One California District's Commitment

Susan Jones, a member of Resilient Sacramento and Behavior Specialist at San Juan Unified School District, spent the day of the Becoming a Trauma Sensitive School conference, overjoyed. Resilience came to Sacramento! *with pics

On November 1, the UC Davis Department of Family and Community Medicine hosted guest lecturer Dr. Nadine Burke Harris for a special screening of "Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope", a KPJR film directed by James Redford. The film is a follow up from the documentary, "Paper Tigers". "Resilience" takes us on the next step: Learning how trauma informed practices can help dramatically shift outcomes for struggling families in entire communities.
