The Sacramento play TRIGGER raises awareness about the impact of trauma on youth lives

Trigger

Attracting a wide cross section of the Sacramento community, from the social services and civic sectors to local high school students and community members, the original play, written and directed by Resilient Sacramento member DeAngelo Mack and acted by local youth, was a smash hit. It was also sobering and thought provoking, introducing the impact of trauma to new audiences, literally and figuratively.

DeAngelo, the play was incredible, an awesome experience! I ran into so many people I know from different walks of life, so many different community members all learning about this important topic.

I threw up this short post now because I wanted to be sure to get the sacbee review circulating before it disappears behind their paywall. But I think we'd all still love to get your thoughts, particularly how you so creatively embedded ACEs science and trauma informed practice into an absorbing, dramatic story-  in an additional post, if you're up to it and have time over the next couple of weeks!
