Free online class on mindfulness for health coaches

Are you a health coach with a mindfulness practice? Would you like to share some easy mindfulness strategies with your clients?

Perhaps you're a health coach that hasn't added mindfulness to your self-care yet, but wants to learn more about it?

Having a mindfulness practice can improve resilience for both health coaches and their clients. Ortiz & Sibinga share that mindfulness instruction has been shown to benefit individuals with a known trauma or ACE. Mindfulness may do this by both an indirect effect of negating the acute response to trauma and stress, but also by inhibiting underlying consequences of chronic exposure to stress and trauma such as psychiatric, metabolic and cardiovascular disease through the influence on lifestyle choices, underlying biochemistry and neurobiology” (Ortiz & Sibinga, 2017).

Mindfulness can also help health coaching clients get the most out of the motivational interviewing and goal setting experience. The key? Self-compassion. Self-compassion can help the client balance their nervous system in the moment, and when practiced regularly, it may help them achieve their health goals. Schuman-Olivier et al. states that “self-compassion may be a mechanism through which mindfulness meditation supports behavior change and engagement in health promoting behaviors” (Schuman-Olivier et al., 2020).

This free class is a great way to learn more about how to use mindfulness to help our clients get better results. Would starting your sessions off with a few minutes of mindfulness allow your client to deeply focus on what they want to get out of coaching?
