Re: The Violence at Home Signal for Help (Canadian Women's Foundation)
I think having a signal for help is wonderful, but I wonder about using this particular signal. Many of us use this as part of a working model of the brain in a state of calm, based on Dr Daniel Siegel's "flip your lid" model ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm9CIJ74Oxw ). I fear using this particular sign as a signal for help will lead to confusion.

Judge Sheila Calloway says she had “absolutely no idea that I wanted to become a lawyer” when she was growing up in Louisville, Kentucky. Hi there - I've had an inquiry from one of our community youth justice partners about whether there are youth detention facilities out there that have found effective ways to have on-site resources for staff to help them with vicarious/secondary trauma that results from their jobs in this work.
