PACEs in Youth Justice

Discussion of Transition and Reentry issues of out of home (treatment, detention, sheltered, etc.) youth back to their families and communities. Frequently these youth have fallen behind in their schooling, have reduced motivation, and lack skills to navigate requirements to successfully re-enter school programs or even to move ahead with their dreams.

New Trauma Informed Criminal Justice Initiatives Coming to PACEs Connection!

We are excited to launch several exciting new initiatives designed for PACEs Connection’s trauma-informed criminal justice communities this fall. You talked, and we listened! Using the excellent feedback we have received from those of you who have participated in our trauma-informed criminal justice CRC, GRC, and SRC events this year, beginning in September we will offer more opportunities for connection and dialogue for individuals and communities interested in this specific realm of PACEs...see below for more details!

PACEs Connection’s Trauma-Informed Criminal Justice Community of Practice Monthly Events: We are THRILLED to announce that beginning in September, PACEs Connection will offer members access to our criminal justice community of practice events. These monthly events will be offered in a “virtual café” format where we will invite individuals who engage in trauma-informed criminal justice work to participate in an open dialogue about current topics in this area. Whether you are a retired family court judge, a probation officer who has been in the field for 10 years, or a community member brand new to this field and wanting to learn more about how to promote criminal justice reform in your local area, we invite you to join in our monthly conversations where you can connect with similar PACEs champions, share resources and practice tips, brainstorm obstacles, and discuss current events pertaining to trauma-informed criminal justice.

PACEs Connection’s Trauma-Informed Criminal Justice Resource Libraries: Both of the PACEs Connection’s trauma-informed criminal justice interest based communities – PACEs in the Criminal Justice System and PACEs Youth Justice – will release resource libraries that will be updated each month with information you can use to expand your knowledge and action related to trauma-informed criminal justice.

PACEs Connection’s Fall 2022 Trauma-Informed Criminal Justice Spotlight Topics: Each month this fall we will post a blog that outlines one specific example of how PACEs champions can advance criminal justice reform in their communities. From featuring examples of restorative justice models that can be applied in court settings, to highlighting existing successful community safety efforts, these blog posts will dive in and explore different ways to promote trauma-informed criminal justice.

For updates and access to these featured initiatives, visit the home page on PACEs Connection’s trauma-informed criminal justice interest based communities – PACEs in the Criminal Justice System and PACEs Youth Justice.  We look forward to engaging with you this fall!
