Is there a resource/directory, similar to finding psych trauma specialist, for dentists or other medical offices/professionals? It is not uncommon for trauma survivors to avoid medical treatment; especially survivors of sexual abuse. The anxiety of seeing a doctor is often worse than whatever physical symptom that makes the visit necessary. ...and you can forget about regular check ups! It would be amazing/comforting to find doctors/dentists that welcome patients with severe medical anxiety/phobias.

Is it possible that this could be combined with the efforts already underway, to develop a directory of each state's ACEs-informed and TIC groups? Or if not, would these already-identified state groups be able to provide the foundation for this next directory? Appreciate both of these directory ideas!
This is a great idea. Here in Texas we are working with our FQHC's to become trauma informed. We have several dentist offices that are apart of this effort and we would love to share the names of our health centers that are trauma informed.
Thatâs terrific, Aimee. It would be a terrific resource. When it is developed, would you please send it to me c/o csipp@acesconnection.com?
Thanks!

I'm supporting an FQHC in California which includes medical care including adult, pediatric, family, women's, dental, and behavioral in becoming trauma informed. A central resource would be wonderful!
