Through statistics, archival footage and interviews with figures like academic Henry Louis Gates Jr. and activists Bryan Stevenson and Angela Davis, “13th,” draws a stark line between the institution of slavery and the high incarceration rate of black men and women in the U.S. in 2016.
This country was attacked by the same terrorist thinking/actions of Isis. We must start at the beginning not the middle because it continues and the consequences will continue for generations to come. I applaud you Jane for making your statement. I'm all in with you. Let's go!
