Thanks for your question. A number of progressive hospitals are also considering the related subject of secondary trauma, i.e. the emotional and physical impact upon the allied professionals themselves who work with traumatized patients. A documentary film I have co-produced (see: www.caregiversfilm.com ) is available to address secondary trauma--which can be a good entree for also encouraging an understanding of primary trauma and ACE's in hospitals. My film team this spring led grand rounds at the Hospital of the University of PA and Jefferson Hospital (Sidney Kimmel Medical College). In a handout which we have used (see attachment below), you'll find a section with links to innovative programs that address secondary trauma and staff needs in medical settings, e.g. the University of Missouri's "forYou" program spells out a care for the caregivers approach.
