Reply to "Training Managers to Provide Trauma Informed Supervision"

Dense - I, too, would be interested in seeing your PowerPoint. ChildWise Institute is in the early stages of working with a local business that has up to 100 employees at any given time. This is a non-clinical business. Our mutual goal is to help them become an ACE-aware and trauma-informed business, resulting in creating a resilient-building work environment. We started with training the senior management team on ACEs (we are an ACE Interface Master Trainer site, and I am a Certified ACE Master Trainer). Our next step is working with the owners and senior management to create a strategic plan and action plan to roll out the ACE and trauma-informed training throughout the organization, beginning with supervisors (to your point). By the way, this training will positively impact not only work relations among employees, but customer relations, as well. Thye are a retail business. This plan will presumably include bringing in local resources that the business will provide to their employees to help them navigate life in better and healthier ways. Such resources might be a financial management expert to offer free classes on basic personal money management; a Circle of Security trainer to offer parenting classes; a point person at the Dept of Health & Human Services to offer classes on navigating social services such as food stamps, affordable housing, etc. Like I said, we're in the early stages of this right now, but it is a very promising opportunity!

Thank you all for being change-makers in your communities! It's hard work, often underappreciated, but possibly the most important work we'll ever do!
