The Resolution Diamond

What kinds of trauma-reenactment tools are people using?

Here is something I created with my team that we are calling the Resolution Diamond; a completed version of the reenactment triangle. We play certain, familiar roles because they are meeting our needs, despite the fact that they may also be hurting us or hurting others. We begin to heal and perform new roles when we have learned how to keep ourselves safe, when we believe we have intrinsic value as a human being, when we have access to the resources we need, and when we have failed enough times trying all the old ways and they're no longer serving us.

This model can be used in all kinds of settings to help us understand behavior resulting from trauma and help direct us towards healthier ways of being.
