Julie, so glad to see your inquiry about the Trauma-Informed Care for Children and Families bill introduced recently in the House and Senate. Here is a link to an article I wrote when the bill was introduced just in case you didn't see this. Since that article was written, numerous state, local and national organizations have signed on as supporters such the Mental Health America, American Psychological Association, and Futures without Violence. I'll be writing a follow up story soon since a briefing on the bill is expected shortly. A new national organization, the Campaign for Trauma-Informed Policy and Practice, was very involved in creating interest in the issue during 2016 and is a major backer of the legislation.
