Reply to "Programs to Help Adult Survivors Of Childhood Sexual Abuse"

Hi Elizabeth,

I have two suggestions. I am involved with yogaHOPE, an organization that developed and deploys TIMBo (Trauma Informed Mind Body). TIMBo is a research-based, integrative mind-body practice for resolving the symptoms of trauma and toxic stress, designed specifically for women.  The  TIMBo practice is taught via a manual- based curriculum rooted in trauma theory, the theory of psychosocial development, and theory of emotional anatomy development, and instruction follows gender-responsive principles.  Many of the participants in TIMBo groups at social service agencies in which we work are survivors of childhood sexual abuse and have found the practice of TIMBo extremely helpful. Check out the website for more information. https://www.yhtimbo.org.

Also, the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center has worked with survivors for over 45 years. I know they run groups but I do not know if they have a formal methodology--or at least one that has been systemized so that it easily replicated--but they do great work.

Best of luck!!
