Reply to "Potential of Trauma-Informed Primary Care"

The awareness of the ACE concepts and they way they are being applied to create a trauma informed primary care model is fantastic and all power to you all. My only suggestion is that rather than only focusing upon 'trauma' defined by the external events that the model expand to incorporate 'trauma' as defined by the internal response to events instead - or effectively a neurobiological definition of trauma based upon what happened inside the person's body regardless of the external event. This could help future research into ACE's investigate common western childhood experiences such as controlled crying (as researched by Wendy Middlemiss)  which may be putting kids into a repetitive state of physiological immobility/trauma even though it is doing within a seemingly loving and safe environment. Just some food for thought.
