I have been a Certified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor for 40 years in California; was a probation officer prior to that. You might contact the national certifying body for counselors in the substance abuse/recovery field (NAADAC), and similar certifying bodies in the state where you reside, (In California, it's CCAPP in Sacramento). I only recently learned of ACES and want to become certified. I think ACES is the missing link in serving individuals, families, neighborhoods, and any group of people who come together regularly for a purpose.
