Gun Violence, A Public Health Issue?

Gun violence is one of the key issues of the work I do around trauma. I see families torn apart by gun violence year after year. Over 30,000 people are killed each year in the U.S. as a result of gun violence. This is truly a public health issue. Unfortunately, because of the power of gun associations and the government gun violence and research around it continue to go unchecked. We find ourselves fighting an uphill battle.
