Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation

- both dissertation grants (to fund your schooling/stipend) and research grants. focuses on issues of violence

NSF

- the NSF offers dissertation improvement grants. You will have to look into which program focus is right for you. I believe these grants offer funding for your research, but cannot pay your stipend or education costs.

Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowships

http://www.acls.org/programs/dcf/

- this is to fund your stipend and education with a little extra ($3000) for research costs

Society for Psychological Study of Social Issues's Grants in Aid

- this is a small grant for dissertation research. it is due in 2 days...

I'm sure there are many more out there, but these are the few I can find right now. I suggest you also contact your university, to see if they have an office that specializes in helping people with grants. The professors at your school should know if something like this exists.

Good luck, and let me know if you have any more questions.
