Thanks for this excellent discussion - language is so important. I think it's critical to remember that trauma refers to the response to an event or series of events. The use of the term toxic stress does provide more universality further more it makes it more clear that there is a link to the biological impact of early adverse experiences and broadens the understanding of risk factors to include environmental and social factors, as well as the relational factors.
