The Secondary Traumatic Stress in Child Welfare Practice: Trauma-Informed Guidelines for Organizations provides a wealth of information of how to address Secondary Traumatic Stress at an organizational level. News In Numbers: Homeless Student Numbers Rise In San Diego County (kpbs.org)
There are 21,466 homeless students in San Diego County K-12 public schools. That is nearly the population of Coronado. The San Diego County Office of Education reports the number of homeless students rose from 15,826 during the 2010-11 school year, to 21,466 in the 2015-16 school year. No expulsions for students in Lincoln brawl (sandiegouniontribune.com)
Standing alongside church leaders, San Diego Unified officials Friday vowed not to expel students involved in last week’s brawl at Lincoln High School, regardless of the findings of the ongoing criminal investigation — in the name of restorative justice. Superintendent Cindy Marten said she hopes students facing charges in Juvenile Court over the Feb. 26 fight are back in school Monday.
