Passport to Life - CANCELLED!

Please take a moment to read the following from Judge Caietti:

With the recent events involving the death of San Diego Police Officer DeGuzman, Passport to Life is cancelled for this Friday.  The various law enforcement agencies in San Diego County are participating in the memorial service which is being held at the same time as Passport to Life.  The security team for Passport to Life is comprised of a variety of law enforcement agencies, including Probation, SDPD, SDUSD PD, SDCC PD, MTD PD and others– most, if not all, of whom will be attending Officer DeGuzman’s memorial service.  Probation Chief Adolfo Gonzalez and I discussed the circumstance and felt  the best approach was to cancel Passport to Life for this year.  Unfortunately, we cannot move the event to another date in the near future given San Diego City College is going to begin their fall classes.

I know how disappointing this is given all of the hard work many individuals and entities have put forth to make Passport to Life a special annual event our youth and families.  I want to particularly thank our Court administration, San Diego County Probation Department, San Diego County Office of Education, San Diego Workforce Partnership, San Diego County Office of District Attorney, San Diego County Office of Public Defender, San Diego City College and the countless volunteers, presenters and exhibitors.   The dedication and tireless effort in putting on this type of event is much appreciated!

Thank you for your support and understanding.   We are looking forward to next year’s Passport to Life.

Regards,

Judge Carolyn M. Caietti
