San Diego’s decision-makers are mostly white, male and economically advantaged, according to a new report released Tuesday. The 51-page report comes from the Center on Policy Initiatives, a San Diego think tank that has ties to local labor unions. There are 21,466 homeless students in San Diego County K-12 public schools. That is nearly the population of Coronado. The San Diego County Office of Education reports the number of homeless students rose from 15,826 during the 2010-11 school year, to 21,466 in the 2015-16 school year. No expulsions for students in Lincoln brawl (sandiegouniontribune.com)
Standing alongside church leaders, San Diego Unified officials Friday vowed not to expel students involved in last week’s brawl at Lincoln High School, regardless of the findings of the ongoing criminal investigation — in the name of restorative justice.
