4th "Healing Orange County From Childhood Trauma" Meeting

Our 4th “Healing Orange County from Childhood Trauma” meeting was held on Wednesday August 17th, at Laguna Woods Village Community Center - Elm Room. We are all grateful for Betsy Starkweather graciously reserving our meeting space. We had a total of 7 attendees, see attached for Agenda and Meeting Notes. We were all warmly welcomed by Dana Brown, and we were all given the opportunity to share what we are passionate about. It was very inspiring to hear that we all shared a cohesive passion for, helping others by bringing trauma informed awareness, and resilience building into our community. Sectors of our Orange County community represented were; Special Education, Therapeutic modalities, Spiritual guidance, and sharing personal experiences through authorship of a book.

Our Group will soon be embarking on our first step, with the screening of Paper Tigers and eventually RESILIENCE. The evolutionary process has begun, such that we will be organizing plural showings at multiple locations with the screening of both films and the opportunity to have break-out sessions to fully engage the attendees.

We are thrilled to announce that we have chosen our Group’s title to be: Orange County ACEs Task Force. Group consensus on our Group’s banner on ACEs Connection with Marlene Sanders beautiful photos taken of scenic locations around Orange County. Stay tuned for our exciting modification to our webpage! Our meeting concluded with a wonderful feeling of accomplishment, and enthusiasm for our exciting next steps.

The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday September 21st from 6pm-8pm, in Laguna Woods Village Community Center’s Elm Room. We are all looking forward to re-connecting and welcoming many more attendees.

Our Kindest Regards, Orange County ACEs Task Force
