Report: Child poverty increases in 80 of 83 Michigan counties

MICHIGAN (WPBN/WGTU)-- Child poverty has increased in 80 out of 83 counties in Michigan, according to reports by the Michigan League for Public Policy advocacy group. According to MLPP's report, child poverty increased 23 percent statewide from 2006-2014 and the rate of child abuse and neglect also increased in most Michigan counties, up 29 percent statewide compared to 2006. I'm a member of the Michigan Human Trafficking Health Advisory Board (MHTHAB) and we are trying to push the awareness of the ACEs. Hi Sarah, Are you doing anything to educate in your community about ACEs / Toxic Stress / Epigenetics / Mind-Body Connection / Altered but Predictable Brain Changes to the developing brain experiencing childhood adversity and developmental chaos?
