Lancaster County ACEs & Resilience Connection (PA)

Working collaboratively with schools, business, healthcare, government agencies, social services, criminal justice systems, healthcare organizations & faith communities to become a trauma-informed community. We invite all concerned citizens, professionals & advocates to partner with us to raise awareness about trauma & its effects, to build resilience, and offer hope & healing.

Angela Keen, Community Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator, Domestic Violence Services of Lanc Co

Angela Keen provides training to staff and the community on topics related to domestic violence, including trauma, in her role at Domestic Violence Services (DVS). She leads the internal staff workgroup at DVS as they implement the agency-wide Risking Connection trauma-informed strategy as developed by the Traumatic Stress Institute. Angela advocates for trauma informed communities as a volunteer with the Keystone Crisis Intervention Team, as an adjunct professor at HACC, as a co-leader of the Lancaster County STOP Team and a member of the Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Trauma-Informed Lancaster Education working group.

Angela will share:

* how DVS has gone about the work of becoming more trauma informed

* resources, supports, tools, and processes they’ve found helpful

* lessons they’ve learned in their trauma-informed journey, and

* Ideas and advice they’d offer to other organizations in earlier stages of this process
