Spread the word! New housing assistance is available [communications.childwelfare.gov]

Rental Assistance Is Now Available for
Renters and Landlords

unnamed (1)Many families are having trouble making rent payments. The COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult for renters and landlords to cover housing costs. Fortunately, new housing financial assistance is now available.

This letter from Aysha E. Schomburg, Associate Commissioner of the Children's Bureau, calls on the child welfare field to spread the word on these emergency rental assistance resources.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has resources for both renters and landlords. Its rental assistance finder allows people to find aid based on the state/territory or tribe/tribal lands where they live. These funds could help cover rent, utilities, and other housing costs to keep residents in their homes.

Please share these resources with your community so more people can stay housed and avoid eviction. Together, we can help families maintain stability during these uncertain times.
