Spotlight on Kidsdata.org

Kidsdata.org

Kidsdata.org provides a tool for assessing community needs, setting priorities, tracking progress, preparing grant proposals, and making program and policy decisions. Users easily can find and customize more than 500 data measures of child health and well-being, sorted by topic, region, or demographic group. Data are available for every county, city, school district, and legislative district in California, and many measures include national comparisons.

Kidsdata.org has compiled a comprehensive set of information about Childhood Adversity and Resilience on its site. The topic includes 56 indicators about the prevalence of adversity and resiliency among California’s children, among mothers of infants reflecting on their childhood, and among California adults with children living in their homes reflecting on their childhood. The suite of data complements other Kidsdata topics such as Child Abuse and Neglect, Intimate Partner Violence, and Family Income and Poverty.
