ACEs Aware Core Trainings
Clinical team members who bill Medi-Cal must complete a certified ACEs Aware Core Training and attest to completing the training to qualify to receive Medi-Cal payment for conducting ACE screenings.
Becoming ACEs Aware in California Core Training - Register Here
This free, two-hour online training from ACEs Aware certifies eligible clinicians to receive Medi-Cal payment for ACE screenings. Clinicians and clinical team members will receive 2.0 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits and 2.0 Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits upon completion and are encouraged to join the ACES Aware Clinician Directory.

The Pediatric Resiliency Collaborative (PeRC) provides Adverse Childhood Experience (ACEs) training for pediatric providers and clinic staff. Through the support of the ACEs Aware initiative, PeRC has developed a framework for training clinics and community partners.

UCSF Benioff has created an ACEs Core training that focuses on ACEs and trauma informed pediatric care. The training qualifies for up to 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) + 4.0 American Board of Pediatrics MOC Part 2 points.
ACEs Aware Supplemental Trainings
ACEs Aware Supplemental Trainings are developed by grantees and address key topics that support providers as they screen and respond to ACEs. Providers must take a Core Training to qualify for Medi-Cal payment for ACE screening.

This training from First 5 Alameda County explains ACEs and their prevalence, health disparities in the data, toxic stress physiology, and related impacts on health, including underlying biological mechanisms. This training is intended for Medi-Cal providers.

This training from Tri-City Mental Health will delve into how we each play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of children, adults, families, and communities. This 7-module virtual supplemental training from Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services addresses ACEs, their prevalence, and trauma-informed care in Indigenous communities of California. The content of these modules support screening for ACEs and treatment of toxic stress in Indigenous communities.
