We have known for some time now that trauma affects the physical and mental health of individuals, but a recent study shows that even unborn fetuses can suffer from trauma exposure. The linked study found that infants born to women who had been previously exposed to trauma in their lives gave birth to male babies with significantly lower birth weight than women not exposed to trauma.
