Discussion of Transition and Reentry issues of out of home (treatment, detention, sheltered, etc.) youth back to their families and communities. Frequently these youth have fallen behind in their schooling, have reduced motivation, and lack skills to navigate requirements to successfully re-enter school programs or even to move ahead with their dreams.

Global Resiliency Accelerator to Meet - Focus on Trauma Informed Work in the Justice System

 

Plan now to join us for the Global Resiliency Accelerator on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 12-2 p.m. EST.

This event will be focused trauma informed work in the justice field both in the US and UK. Becky will be sharing on her Trauma Informed Policing training which she's used to train numerous police departments on as well as published an article about it in the October 2021, International Association of Chiefs of Police Magazine. She will provide examples of Trauma Informed Policing and discuss what other justice sectors are doing that are embracing this topic.

Also presenting will be Emmerline Irving. She is the Senior Manager, Improving Population Health, West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership and Senior Public Health Lead West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit. Emmerline will be discussing her work to create trauma informed prisons in the UK by 2030 and steps they are taking to reach this goal. Following these presentations will be time for questions and discussion.
