Participants Needed for a New Social Media Campaign

Centering & Celebrating Diverse 2SLGBTQIA+ Family Stories

We want to center and celebrate the stories of diverse families around the nation. This social media campaign features 2SLGBTQIA+ families of all kinds: queer and trans parents, queer and trans kids, families of choice, family of origin, drag family - if there is love and care, you are welcome here! Share your thoughts on the word "family" to be featured in the campaign.

Campaign Title:

We Are Family!: Including, welcoming, and celebrating 2SLGBTQIA+, gender expansive, and other families of choice within systems of care

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

NTTAC envisions a world where all children, youth, and families living with and impacted by mental health challenges have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive in a comprehensive and equitable system of care.

Our goals for this campaign are:

  • To create a space for 2SLGBTQIA+ families to share their needs and define appropriate mental health supports for their communities.
  • To celebrate diverse family structures and the positive effects that loving families of all types can have on a young person’s life and mental health.
  • To highlight the importance of chosen families as a crucial source of support for 2SLGBTQIA+ children and youth.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

If you identify as:

  • A member of the Two Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Asexual/Aromantic, + (2SLGBTQIA+) community
  • A caregiver, parent, or guardian of a 2SLGBTQIA+ child, teen, or young adult

You are invited to share with the National Training & Technical Assistance Center for Child, Young Adult, and Family Mental Health (NTTAC), your thoughts on the word “family” and what your ideal network of support for mental health and wellbeing would look like. Your responses will be shared on our social media pages.
