When the Health Care System Fails You Because of Your Race [Portland, OR]

There's no mistaking the facts -- racial disparities do affect health care outcomes --  Whether in the operating room, a doctor’s office or an ambulance, white patients tend to enjoy better health outcomes. Researchers have documented that African American women experience much higher rates of many preventable diseases and chronic health conditions including diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. And, they are three to four times more likely to experience a pregnancy-related death than white women. Learn how we can end such discrimination by attending our breakfast forum.
