Over the past 30 years, we’ve evaluated the unique treatment needs of women and girls.  One dominate and reoccurring theme in the lives of women and girls is the interrelationship between addiction, mental health issues, and interpersonal violence (as well as other traumatic experiences).  It’s increasingly more important that social service providers are equipped to address trauma with their clients.

This webinar discusses the history of women’s treatment, the history of trauma services, and the interconnection between the two.  We will define trauma-informed, trauma-specific and gender-responsive services and provide recommendations for programming.

Objectives:

  • Discuss the history of women’s treatment
  • Define trauma-informed, trauma-specific and gender-responsive services
  • Describe the process of trauma and common responses
  • Provide clinical resources

There will be a Q&A session at the end of the formal presentation.  You can submit questions within the registration form or during the webinar.  We look forward to having you join us and renowned speaker, Dr. Stephanie Covington.
