Using Evidence-Informed Interventions & Addressing Criminogenic Factors to Improve Outcomes for Psychoeducational Programs

Santa Cruz, CA

This workshop is designed for group facilitators of psychoeducational programs (substance abuse/batterer intervention/anger management, etc.), particularly those working with mandated clients who are often “resistant” to change. Participants will learn how to use evidence-informed interventions to improve client engagement, increase program retention and promote behavioral change.  The 16-hour workshop will include 15 hours of classroom instruction and 1 hour of homework; using the curriculum “Another Way…Choosing to Change” to demonstrate the various interventions and interactions.

Upon completion of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Utilize evidence-informed interventions to engage their clients and promote behavior change;
  • Learn how to address criminogenic factors to reduce recidivism;
  • Apply trauma-informed strategies to increase program retention;
