Unique impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on individuals with complex health and social needs

Thank you to our partners and communities who are adapting and innovating more than ever in this unprecedented crisis. Whether you are providing services to individuals, gathering resources for organizations and communities, or staying home to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are in this together and appreciate all of your hard work.

The spread of COVID-19 in the United States and globally has made stark what we in the complex care field already knew: our fragmented care systems and frail safety net leave our most vulnerable community members at heightened risk, especially during times of national emergency. Individuals with complex health and social needs are particularly vulnerable to disruption of services and the social and economic fallout from social distancing measures across the country.

The National Center for Complex Health and Social Needs will be holding a community forum on Friday, April 3, 1:00 - 2:00 pm ET to discuss ways this pandemic has impacted individuals with complex needs and to crowdsource helpful resources. Please join us with your experiences, questions, and organizational practices to share with your complex care peers. Even if you are unable to join, we invite you to share your questions, resources or suggestions to us at nationalcenter@camdenhealth.org. Your collective wisdom is critical to ensure that we stay connected as a community and can continue to provide holistic, person-centered care to those who need it most.
