Trauma Informed Care Through the Lens of Systemic Racism (Alliance for Regional Solutions)

Purpose:

To educate and empower individuals to understand the impacts of trauma including generational trauma and develop a trauma informed care approach to working with clients, participants, and colleagues.

Objectives:

  • Explore importance of being trauma informed
  • Understand the prevalence of trauma and impacts on individuals including racialized trauma
  • Learn key elements of trauma informed care
  • Develop trauma informed practice tools
  • Apply trauma informed care to work with clients/participants/individuals

Process:

Interactive and experiential learning during the workshop with opportunities to reflect, share, and practice skills and apply to real life experiences.
