Trauma Crossroads: Where Trauma and Disability Meet in Young Children with Disabilities and Their Families

We invite you on a journey to explore where “trauma” and “special needs” in young children and their families intersect. The outcome of this exploration is increased awareness with the goal of building resilience and introducing trauma-responsive supports for families who have young children with a developmental disability, difference, or special health care needs.

Objectives

  1. Define trauma, disability, “special needs” and resilience
  2. Explore 7 areas children and/or parents of children with disabilities may intersect
