Train-the-trainer faculty course, TREATING PATIENTS WITH C.A.R.E.

The Institute for Healthcare Communication prepares selected individuals to lead evidence-based skills development workshops. Team members learn specific skills and strategies to promote effective and respectful interactions. IHC's train-the-trainer (TTT) faculty courses are intensive and highly effective. Learners strengthen their communication skills for impressive service, practice workshop facilitation and feedback skills and plan for workshop rollout in their organizations.

Learners emerge with practical, essential and immediately usable skills for enhancing the way healthcare team members interact with patients, families and one another.

Course leader IHC Senior Trainer Michele Nanchoff, PhD, RPsych, MN, brings a wealth of clinical background and training acumen. She is a psychologist, marriage and family therapist and a nurse, with over 30 years of experience in the mental health and counselling fields in primary care, tertiary care and ambulatory care settings. She holds an adjunct faculty appointment with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Calgary and provides coaching to physicians and residents to improve their communication skills.
