Teaching and Learning About Race: Fantastic Practice in Late Elementary School [embracerace.org]

Our goal of raising children to thrive in a healthy and just multiracial democracy necessitates an education system that supports honest and open teaching and learning about race and racism, past and present. It may be easier for some to envision these conversations about complex social issues among teenagers and their high school teachers. But we must also fight to protect the ability of teachers to guide young children toward foundational understandings of human diversity and social justice, too.

In this webinar, we will specifically focus on teaching late elementary school kids to be antiracist. What does healthy and developmentally appropriate teaching and learning about race look like with 9 to 12 year olds? Join us for a conversation to envision the education we must ensure for our children.
