Revisiting the Sandy Hook Tragedy: A mother's mission to save our youth.

Scarlett Lewis’ six-year-old son, Jesse, was murdered in his first-grade classroom, alongside 19 of his classmates. Scarlet talks about how this tragedy would have never happened if the shooter had not been suffering from emotional distress. This week we celebrate World Mental Health Day. Come hear why Scarlet believes we need to focus on students' social and emotional needs to create safer schools for all children and how she has positively impacted over 1,500,000 students with her work.

In this webcast Scarlet will discuss:

  • Her personal story about how she lost her 1st-grade son in one of the worst school shootings in US history and how she turned a personal tragedy into a global movement that is positively impacting the world.
  • The Choose Love Formula that teaches foundational concepts and skills of social and emotional learning (SEL), and which is informed by current brain research and neuroscience.
  • Why focussing on courage, forgiveness, and compassion in action can make all the difference in our schools and our communities.
