"Play Therapy and ACEs" Training with Dr. Nadia Jones

Thursday, March 25th, 2021

10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how to prevent them is the first step to overcoming them and finding therapeutic treatment. Children that experience ACEs are considered a high risk and vulnerable population.

This workshop will discuss ACEs and introduce basic play therapy skills as a useful treatment. Play therapy is one of the best ways to connect and build rapport with children and their caregivers. Children that experience ACEs tend to have difficulties expressing themselves and need a safe and holding environment. Play therapy can provide that safe environment for children working on healing through their natural language of play and the power of the therapeutic relationship.
