Olweus Bullying Prevention Program VIRTUAL Trainer Certification Course

The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (pronounced Ol-VAY-us) is a comprehensive approach that includes schoolwide, classroom, individual, and community components. The program is focused on long-term change that creates a safe and positive school climate. It is designed and evaluated for use in elementary, middle, junior high and high schools (K-12). The program’s goals are to reduce and prevent bullying problems among school children and improve peer relations at school.

The program has been found to reduce bullying among children, improve the social climate of classrooms, and reduce related antisocial behaviors, such as vandalism and truancy. The Olweus Program has been implemented in more than a dozen countries around the world, and in thousands of schools in the United States.

This training will equip you and your school staff with the knowledge, tools, skills, and techniques to implement evidence based bullying prevention and to provide an effective response when bullying occurs. Participants will receive the same information in the same number of training hours (40) as our traditional in-person three-day training through an informative, interactive, and engaging combination of asynchronous and synchronous activities over the course of a month, beginning May 17, 2021.  In addition, they will receive one complete set of trainer’s materials, access to the trainer’s only section of the OBPP website, and 15 hours of consultation with an Olweus Technical Assistance Consultant over a 24-month period after the training.  More information can also be found at https://olweus.sites.clemson.edu/certification.php

Application deadline for this training is May 5, 2021!
