Expert Training and Best Practices: May 19 and 20, the Trauma-Resiliency Collaborative (TRC) and the Utah Coalition for Protecting Childhood (UCPC) will host an educational symposium to mitigate the gap between the effects of trauma and barriers to health. The Next Steps Symposium aims to educate about Trauma-Informed and Resiliency-Focused© practices, which promote health and well-being. The interactive trainings will feature keynote national experts, who will address best practices, as well as local and regional experts from within our community, who will share practical tools and resources.
We can empower by learning to see, speak and educate. Unifying the language of Trauma Informed and Resiliency-Focused practices is an important first step toward health and wellbeing for the individual, school or workplace, family, and community. As we look beyond behaviors, we break down barriers—collectively facilitating healing, health, and well-being.

Friday, May 19: The all-day program will focus on education and dialogue. Morning lectures will be held by nationally recognized experts and panelists. Afternoon interactive sessions will be facilitated by local experts and agencies.
Saturday, May 20: The half-day session will provide multi-disciplinary, hands-on training to identify, mitigate, and improve the health and behaviors of those who have been affected by trauma.
