The CARE TA Center’s virtual conference will address the crisis continuum of care and justice diversion from the perspectives of communities who experience racial trauma and disproportionate health disparities. Intentionally addressing systemic racism within behavioral health and justice systems, we will examine the impacts of policies, programs, and services on Black, Indigenous, and Other People of Color (BIPOC). We will especially elevate the strengths, resiliencies, and lived experiences of BIPOC and other historically marginalized communities (people who are LGBTQ, neurodiverse, justice involved, and/or experiencing homelessness).

AUDIENCE:

County partners, peer support workers, community-based organizations, justice system and law enforcement, religious and spiritual communities, schools and colleges (e.g., social work, psychology, public health), recovery community organizations, and foster youth serving organizations.

SESSION TOPICS:

Family-centered practices, trauma-informed care, evidence-based and/or best practices in crisis response and community resiliency, substance misuse prevention/treatment, integrated mental and behavioral healthcare, criminal justice diversion, suicide prevention, and professional development of peer support workers.

Continuing Education Credits

10 Hours of Continuing Education Credit are available for this virtual conference. Learning Sessions meet the qualifications for up to 10 hours of continuing education credits for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, ASW, PPS, MFC and/or LEPs as required by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). Credit also available for RNs, CADC-CAS, CADC I’s, CADC II’s, CCS, CA CCS, CCJP, CCDP, CRPM, LAADAC, and CCPS.
